Ramsey is a poet, actor, essayist and dramatist, born into a Palestinian-Dutch family in 1974. He was City Poet of Antwerp in 2005 and Poet Laureate of the Netherlands between 2009 and 2012. His first English-language collection, Heavenly Life, was published in 2010. The collection was translated by award-winning translator of Dutch literature David Colmer, and published by Banipal Books. Nasr is currently on stage with Theatre Group Amsterdam, playing Jamie in Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey into Night.
