National Poetry Day 2023
National Poetry Day in the UK takes place on the first Thursday in October, so 5th October is the turn of 2023. The theme of the day is Refuge. And this year, our Digital Partner is promoting National Poetry Day by featuring 7 of its poetry magazines, including the digital archive of Banipal. Banipal Magazine featured the works of many poets from all over the Arab world in its 75 issues.
The National Poetry Day theme for 2023 is REFUGE.
We chose Banipal 57 – Syria in the Heart
to represent the struggle for refuge of Syrian citizens through the poems of
Nouri al-Jarrah, Rasha Omran, Fawaz Kaderi, Hala Mohammad, Nada Menzalji and Mohamad Alaaedin Abdul Moula.
