Banipal magazine is awarded the 2008-2010 Incwriters Outstanding Contribution to Literature (Magazines) award.

The following magazines, listed alphabetically, made up the shortlist top ten:
Banipal, Blithe Spirit, Brand, Chroma, Edinburgh Review, Mslexia, Other Poetry, The North, Succour and Tadeeb.
The evening was packed with readers, poets, publishers and the media, and included a speech by Incwriters Andrew Oldham on the state of the industry, a speech on behalf of Banipal's publisher and editor Margaret Obank by Manchester University professor Philip Sadgrove, and readings .

The Mosaic Rooms celebrates theartistic and poetic works of the great Syrian poet Adonis with talks and events from 3-8 February and an exhibition of Adonis's collages from 3 February until 30 March.
