Shakir Noori (also spelt Shaker Nouri) is an Iraqi novelist, journalist and translator. He has a BA in English Literature from Baghdad University where he taught for four years before moving to France in 1979. He obtained a PhD in Cinema and Theatre from the Sorbonne, Paris.
Shakir Noori has published eight novels and won the Ibn Battuta Prize for Travel Literature. He has worked for the newspaper Al-Arabi Al-Jadid since 1970.
