Laura Watkinson studied medieval and modern languages
at St. Anne's College, Oxford University, and linguistics at Trinity Hall,
Cambridge University. She translates from Dutch, German and Italian into English
and has a particular interest in contemporary art, literature and children's
books. Her recent projects include a translation of Karlijn Stoffels's
HEARTSINGER (Arthur A. Levine),
Tonke Dragt's The Letter
for the King (Pushkin) and Cees Nooteboom’s Letters to Poseidon (MacLehose Press).
She has taught German and English, including
translation skills, at universities in Germany, Italy, Scotland and England, and
now lives in Amsterdam.
