Fahad al-Ateeq (Fahd al-Atiq) was born in Riyadh, Saud Arabia. He is a fiction writer and since 1985 has published five short story collections and one novel. Aftier his work appeared in Lotus Magazine for Afro-Asian writiers, some were published elsewhere in French and English translation.
A chapter from his novel set in Riyadh Ka'n Mu'jjil (2004) was translated by Kathryin Stapley for Banipal and published in Banipal 34 – The World of Arab Fiction. The book has now been translated by Jonathan Wright and published by AUC Press in 2012 as Life on Hold.
