Rasha Omran
was born in Tartus, Syria, in 1964. She has a degree in Arabic literature from Damascus University. She was the director of Al-Sindiyan festival of culture until civil war closed it down. She has published several collections of poetry and lives now in Cairo, Egypt, working as a journalist.
