was born in 1948 in Buenos Aires. He is an internationally renowned writer, translator, film and literary critic, settled in Canada, and currently living in France.

His works include, with Gianni Guadalupi and published in 1980, The Dictionary of Imaginary Places, his prize-winning novel News From a Foreign Country Came, published in 1991, Bride of Frankenstein (1997) and Into the Looking Glass Wood (1998).
