is a Lebanese novelist and poet who lives between Beirut where he teaches Arabic at the Lebanese University and his family home in a mountain village. His novel Azizi Sayid Kawabata has been translated into eight European languages and he is considered a vibrant and innovative voice among modern Arab novelists.
