(d. 2005) was from the village of Dayrut in Upper Egypt. He was involved with the construction of the High Dam before turning to journalism. He published two collections of short stories, a novella and articles reprinted in anthologies. Two novels published in 2001 were Mustagab al-Rabi’a [Mustagab the Fourth] and Kalb Al-Mustagab [The Dog of The Mustagabs]. He won several Egyptian literary prizes He died in June 2005.
