Amir Sommer is an award-winning poet and author. He is the love child of a Palestinian man and an Israeli woman. The mixed religions and nationalities in his family is considered a taboo both in Israel and in Palestine. Sommer escaped to Europe and changed his writing language.

Since the end of 2019 he has refused to publish in Hebrew, although his two poetry books were very successful. In addition, he is establishing a forum to protect descendants of mixed families like his.

These days, he is working on a new collection of short stories, called Disco for Peace, with the first ones being published in The Los Angeles Review, and in Banipal.
