Fares Youakim
Fares Youakim is an author, journalist and translator. German of Lebanese origin, he was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1945 and graduated in film directing from the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo.
He has written several plays produced in Beirut and other Arab capitals.
He has published a number of books on Arabic culture, especially poetry and his articles of literary criticism are published in the Lebanese and Arab press.
A translator from German and French into Arabic, he has won awards for some of his translations.
