Fatima al-Mazrouei writes short stories, poetry and plays. Born in Abu Dhabi, she has a BA in history and archeology from Emirates University, Al Ain. Since 2003 she has published four collections of short stories, a play and a novel. She twice won the Emirati Woman Prize for Literature and Arts, in 2004 2nd prize for the short story, and in 2007 1st prize for her poetry collection I Wish I was a Rose. In 2008 she won a prize for playwriting.
