Nassif al-Nasseri
was born in Nasiryah in Iraq in 1960. To avoid imprisonment, he entered a literacy of adults center in Baghdad (1975-1976). He has been publishing his poetry since the mid-1980s, clandestinely in Iraq and later in Beirut and Amman. He has been living in Sweden since 1998.
