(b. Tetouan, Morocco, 1974) made his debut with Mijn vormen [My Forms] in 1994. The combination of its unusual tone with original images and perspective prompted a nomination for the C. Buddingh Prize for first collections of poetry. In 1998 Mijn gedichten [My Poems] followed and two years later both collections were republished in one volume. His most recent collection, Varkensroze ansichten [Pig Pink Postcards] was published in 2003. It has been recognised as Stitou's best work and earned him a place in the forefront of contemporary poetry in Holland. He was also awarded the prestigious VSB Poetry Prize. Stitou regularly performs at literary events and festivals throughout the country and abroad.
