is well-known author and has published four collections of short stories. His first novel, Gulmohar, was published in 2009. He is Director of the MA programme in National and International Literatures in English at the University of London’s Institute of English Studies, and was a judge of the Saif Ghobash – Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation in 2009. In Banipal 50 he reviews  Other Lives by Iman Humaydan.
