Ghenwa Hayek is an Assistant Professor of Arabic at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. Ghenwa was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from Brown University, writing her dissertation on the representation of Beirut in contemporary Lebanese novels. Her translations have appeared in Banipal, The New York Times and in the Beirut 39 anthology.
