Tarek Sherif
was born in Edmonton, Canada in 1978 of Egyptian parents. He began teaching himself Arabic in 2002 while living in Cairo, Egypt. In 2007, he received his Master's in computational linguistics from the University of Alberta. He is currently working on his first novel as well as various Arabic to English translation projects.
