was born in 1954, in Aleppo, Syria. He graduated from Aleppo University in 1976 with a BA in English Language and Literature, and Diploma in Translation. He has translated many novels and short stories into Arabic, and has worked since 1988 as a translator-reviser at the UN, New York. Among his latest published translations are Intimacy and The Body by Hanif Kureishi, and Secrets by Noureddine Farah.
