was born in 1962 in Saudi Arabia. He has a degree in Political Science from King Abdel Aziz University, Jeddah. He started writing short stories in 1980, spurred on by unrequited love and his first published one was broadcast on radio as a sample of the new Saudi literature. He dabbled in poetry for a couple of years, but returned to storywriting. Since then publishing five short story collections, four novels and 46 short tales for children. He is completing a novel entitled Al-Hindawiya, the name of the area in which he grew up.
