was born in Syria in 1946 in Homs. He is a poet and painter and has published 13 collections of poetry, the first in 1968 and the latest [The Bible of the Blind] in 2003. Some of his work has been translated into several languages. He works as a chief editor for the monthly magazine Al-Mada.
