(1945-2001) was born in Souq Arbiya’ al-Gharb, Morocco. He was one of Morocco’s great modern novelists as well as short story writer, poet and translator. He also worked as a secondary school teacher in Casablanca. He published eighteen novels and collections of short stories in Morocco, Baghdad, Damascus, Tunis, Cairo, and Tripoli in Libya.
