was born in Fez, Morocco, in 1950. From 1979 to 1981 he was general secretary of the Union of Writers. He was one of the co-founders of the House of Poetry in Morocco, and, in 1999, co-founded the League of Writers of Morocco. He has published three collections of poems. He is at present Professor of Literature and Chair of the Department of Arabic at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Marrakesh.
