Jamal Abu Hamdan
was born in 1944 in Jabal Al-Arab, Syria, while the family was moving from Lebanon to Jordan. He has studied in Amman, Cairo and Beirut and has won many prizes for his short stories and his plays that have been performed in all Arab countries. He has published five collections of short stories, five plays, two novels and a novel for children.
