Emad Abu Saleh
was born in a village in the Egyptian Delta in December 1967. He has lived and worked in Cairo since 1990, presently as a journalist on Al-Wafd. He has seven collections of poetry, the last entitled extreme beauty (2005). He only publishes and limited editions of his books from his own pocket; they are not for sale. He distances himself from the literary scene in Egypt, living the life of “a poetic monk”.
