
Xue Qingguo was born in 1964 in Hefei, Anhui Province, China. As well as being a professor and dean of the Department of Arabic Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University, he also serves as Secretary-General of the China Association for Arab Literature Studies, and Deputy Director of the Chinese Arabic Language Teaching and Research Association. His works include translations of Adonis and Gibran Kahlil Gibran, academic studies, and many articles on Arab thought and literature.
