was born in Kirkuk, Iraq, in 1972, and graduated from the Baghdad Institute of Technology in 1993. He published his first volume of poetry in 1999, which was followed the same year by a second in a very limited edition of 20 copies. He moved to Jordan in 2000, and in 2003 settled in New Zealand.
