Najat Abdullah
was born in the province of Misan in Iraq. She has worked on a number of magazines and newspapers as a cultural journalist. She left Iraq in 2001, moved to Amman, and then Wellington before going back to Iraq in 2006. In 2009 she went to live in Cairo. She has published four books of poetry.
