the best of contemporary Arabic fiction with the joint winners of the
2013 Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation. The
winners will be in conversation with fellow literary translator Paul Starkey, and reading from their winning novels – Azazeel, translated by Jonathan Wright, in which readers are plunged into an enthralling tale set in 5th-century Egypt and Syria by Egyptian author Youssef Ziedan, and A Land Without Jasmine, translated by William Maynard Hutchins, a gripping page-turner from young Yemeni author Wajdi Al-Ahdal.
Copies of these winning novels will be available for purchase.
