Nizar Aghri is a Syrian-Kurdish writer and translator, born in Turkey in 1961. He translates from several languages. He has published three novels: The Papers of Mullah Za’afran (2005), Salem Street (2017) and Al-Bahth ‘An Aazar  (In Search of Aazar), (2021)m whch is excerpted in Banipal 75, translated by Paul Starkey

He has translated a number of novels by the Italian writer Erri De Luca. Nizar Aghri lives and works in Oslo.
