Allison Blecker is pursuing a PhD in Arabic literature at Harvard University’s Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations Dept. She is also pursuing a secondary field in the Department of Comparative Literature.
She has a BA in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies from New York University and an MA from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University. Her dissertation, "Eco-Alterity: Environmental Writing in Postcolonial Arabic Literature", analyzes Arabic literary representations of the environment.
