was born in Fes, Morocco. Since the 1980s he has lived in Marrakesh, teaching mathematics. He has published two collections of short stories, Hassad al-Judhur [Harvester of Roots] (1995) and Shukran li-‘Arbia’a Qadim [Thanks to Old Wednesday] (Dar Alwah, Madrid, 1999).
